Renewable Energy and Co-Generation

With an increased global emphasis on sustainability, energy efficiency and renewable energy, there is a growing imperative to reduce greenhouse gases and mitigate global warming. i.Power Solutions are capable of providing professional delivery and implementation of integrated and innovative solutions that are practical, tangible and sustainable. For the burgeoning renewable energy market and its associated industries, i.Power Solutions can turn a co-generation power station concept into a reality, proving that renewable energy can help our clients meet their business needs, reduce energy costs, improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply; all without compromising the environment.

Providing a total turnkey package, our Projects & Construction team involves many professional disciplines including draftspersons; electrical, mechanical and control systems engineers; engineering technologists, construction managers and project managers.

With the Projects & Construction team possessing backgrounds from a variety of industries, i.Power Solutions' professional capabilities include the design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project management which have all been applied on 'distributed generation'-scale power generation infrastructure.

Previous co-generation and power generation projects have included the design, supply, construction, installation, commissioning, initial operation and project management of electrical equipment, rotating machinery and electric drives, and control systems for optimal and efficient use of heat and power. Recent successes include the Isis Co-Generation Power Station for Ergon Energy and the Milling Train Electricification for the Isis Central Sugar Mill; both of which showcase the engineering application of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

  • Ergon Energy - Isis Central sugar Mill Co-Generation Power Station (Childers, Queensland)

Mid-2004 saw a contractual agreement undertaken between i.Power Solutions, Ergon Energy and Isis Central Sugar Mill to formally appoint i.Power Solutions as Principal Contractor for the design and delivery of the Isis Co-Generation Power Station.

The decision to undertake the entire project was prompted not only by the success of similar generation control projects within various industries (as outlined below), but by the confidence that we had the right expertise within our Projects & Construction team to undertake a project of this size, further involving mechanical and electrical disciplines, and construction and project management.
