A Brief History
Whilst the business originally commenced in 1980, i.power solutions was established on 2 April 2001 following the divestment and merger of Nu-Lec Industries’ Switchgear and Projects divisions.

The business continued to grow with the establishment of branches in Mackay and Newcastle, and through the acquisition of subsidiary companies in Perth (formerly Tanis IPS) and Cairns (formerly Industrial & Marine Electrics). Occupation of a new corporate office and manufacturing facilities in the prestigious Rivergate Marine Precinct at Murarrie in 2006 heralded further development opportunities for the Group.

On 19 February 2008, the acquisition of i.power solutions by Bilfinger Berger Services (Australia) Pty Ltd was announced. Bilfinger Berger Services is a specialist engineering, construction and asset management contractor, creating, operating and maintaining vital public and industrial infrastructure in Australia, New Zealand and the region. The acquisition of i.power solutions supported BBS’ strategy to expand into the electrical contracting sector to enable the delivery of integrated total asset solutions to the mining, infrastructure and utilities markets.

Today the i.power solutions Group continues to thrive in its five strategic Australian locations in an increasingly competitive and challenging market.

Structure and Organisation
i.power solutions is a national multi disciplined electrical engineering, manufacturing and project delivery company, headquartered in Brisbane with branches in Mackay, Cairns, Newcastle and Perth. A further 100% owned subsidiary, i.Power Utility Services specialises in site based substation work primarily for the utility sector.

i.power solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bilfinger Berger Services (Australia) Pty Ltd.

i.power solutions’ commitment to quality and excellence is evidenced through comprehensive internal quality systems, procedures, and testing practices that are accredited to the internationally recognised standard AS/NZS ISO 9001: 2008 and Product Certification AS/NZS 3800: 2005. Quality is enhanced through the continued investment in manufacturing technology, product development and engineering resources.
